Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information FOB may process, why it is used, and how advertising and browser technologies may operate on the site. Last updated September 10, 2026.

Information FOB may process

When you use FOB, the site may process information needed to provide the service, including your Steam ID64, FOB Operator identifier, callsign, account-link status, Unit membership, board participation, session state, and WARDOGS progression information returned for your Operator. Progression may include values such as Cash, Gold, season, experience, mastery or class values, and other counts made available by WARDOGS.

If you create or attach a FOB account, we may also process the account information required to authenticate that account, such as an email address and the internal account identifier used by the service. FOB does not ask for or receive your Steam password.

How we use information

We use this information to authenticate users, preserve the correct Operator identity, display your Rack and other requested features, manage Units and opt-in boards, maintain session and sync safety, prevent duplicate or conflicting account links, investigate errors, and protect the service from abuse.

WARDOGS-derived data may be cached so FOB can show the last known progression state when a live session is unavailable. Cached data is treated as historical information and is not used as proof that a current WARDOGS session is valid.

Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies

FOB may use cookies, browser storage, or similar technologies for authentication, session continuity, security, preferences, and other features needed to operate the site. Technical request information such as IP address, browser or device information, timestamps, and error or security events may also be processed by hosting, security, analytics, or infrastructure providers as part of operating the service.

Advertising and Google AdSense

FOB may use Google AdSense or other advertising services to support the cost of operating the site. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, measure, limit, or personalize ads based on a visitor's use of this site and, where permitted, prior visits to this or other websites.

Google's advertising cookies may allow Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to FOB or other sites on the internet. Depending on your region and settings, you may be offered controls for personalized advertising or consent choices before advertising technologies are used. Google also provides advertising settings where users can manage personalized advertising preferences.

Third-party advertising providers may place or read cookies in your browser, or use web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers as part of ad serving, measurement, fraud prevention, and reporting. FOB will not intentionally pass Steam credentials or WARDOGS session tokens to advertising providers.

Sharing and service providers

Information may be processed by service providers that host, secure, authenticate, store, or operate parts of FOB. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users or the service, investigate abuse, or enforce these Terms. We do not sell Steam credentials or WARDOGS session credentials.

Public and community features

If you opt in to a board or participate in a Unit, information intended for those community features may be visible to other users, such as callsign, ranking position, Unit association, or selected progression values. Do not use a callsign or profile information that you do not want displayed in those areas.

Data retention and account changes

FOB may retain account, security, progression, and audit information for as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, maintain data integrity, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations. Some immutable security records may be retained to protect account identity and prevent stale or conflicting state from becoming authoritative.

Unlinking Steam and signing out are different actions. Signing out ends your FOB access session; unlinking changes the canonical Steam relationship for the Operator. Where account-management controls are available, use the Connect page to manage those relationships.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as FOB features, service providers, advertising, or legal requirements change. The date at the top of this page will be updated when material revisions are published.
